The founders of Homeless Paws saw a need. There were many pets without a loving home. These pets were roaming the streets or finding themselves in shelters that only allowed them a limited time to be adopted before being put down. Seeing these poor animals was heartbreaking. But it was something that could be fixed. This is how Homeless Paws was born!
What is Homeless Paws?
Homeless Paws is a no-kill pet shelter providing homes, medical care, and love to stray animals. We are a non-profit organization that works 100% off of volunteers. We are trying to raise money to expand our space and cover pet food, medical care, rent and utility expenses. Our dedicated volunteers work diligently to find our pets loving homes. We even have established foster families in the area so that pets can live with a family while they wait for their new home. Our staff works with different groups and communities to regularly hold adoption fairs for our pets. We host fundraisers for food and supplies, and we are active within the community to help educates about pet ownership and care. We believe that our outreach programs can help prevent more pets from becoming homeless.
We have reached out to schools, youth groups, church groups, business groups, and similar organizations to partner with Homeless Paws in raising awareness about pet overpopulation, responsibilities of pet ownership, and to help raise needed funds and supplies for our organization.
Pets can find themselves without a home for many reasons. Families change, people have to move because of their jobs, sickness prevents ownership or many other reasons that happen just as a part of life. We are dedicated to being the place where pets can go to transition into new loving homes. All of the pets that come through our rescue center are given complete medical exams. They are current on all vaccinations, and every pet is spayed or neutered to prevent overpopulation. If the pet has been injured or needs additional medical care, we ensure they get the care they need.
Our vets donate their time and services or provide care at a significantly discounted cost. We rely on their kindness to help keep our pets healthy and happy.
How Your Donation Can Help?
We encourage everyone to donate to our rescue shelter because a bit of money can go a long way. A five-dollar donation can feed one cat or dog for an entire week. Ten dollars can ensure a pet has the protective shots they need to stay happy and healthy. One hundred dollars can feed 20 or more animals for a week. When we can purchase in bulk, our costs for food and supplies drop, and more animals can be served and saved.
Homeless Paws is 100% funded by donations from people like you. Our staff volunteers their time and talents to the shelter to care for the animals and our foster families' house and feed these pets from the kindness of their hearts. Our expenses include food, medical care, rent, and utilities, which is why we are fundraising. We want to ensure that we can continue providing this necessary service to the pets in need in our community.
