Save Human House

My name is Yuliya  and I'm running this fund raiser to help purchase a historic building which is currently used as an art gallery Human House in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. At this time the gallery is being rented and the new owner is planing to take it down. The only option to keep it is by purchasing. 

Human House is not just a landmark for tourists, it also plays an important role in helping many local craftsman sell their products to support their families, preserve and pass their knowledge to other generations.

Me, my team, craftspeople, artists, and the entire cultural community of Uzbekistan really need your help now!

Human House Art Gallery was opened in 2017 - in an old private house from saman (haulm and clay), which we rent in a mahalla (district) in the center of Tashkent. This is the specific tourist attraction of Human House - we have preserved a unique island of architecture and culture of the previous centuries right in the heart of the capital, full of modern houses and hotels that are unremarkable from the touristic point of view. More than 200 craftspeople from all over Central Asia cooperate with us, and we give work to more than 3,000 people. We were visited by many celebrities and guests from around the globe, we counted visitors from more than 180 countries at the moment.

But now we really need your help!

The building where the Art Gallery is located is rented. And now the owner decided to sell it. He has the right.

But the new buyer wants to demolish the building and cut down the trees around. He needs only the land. He does not value the culture and traditions of the Uzbek people.

That is why we are asking you for help to buy this building.

The price of the building is $ 150,000.

But, we sincerely believe that, despite of the difficulties in the world, there are people who can send a small amount to preserve the unique building, which was turned from a wreck into a world-famous cultural center by creative and talented people.

Нас посетили многие известные знаковые личности и гости со всего земного шара, мы насчитали более 180 стран на данный момент.

Но сейчас нам очень нужна ваша помощь!

Я беру здание, где мы сидим,  в аренду. И хозяин задумал его продать. Это его право.

Но новый покупатель хочет его снести под корень и срубить деревья вокруг, ему нужна только земля.

Ему не ценны культура и традиции узбекского народа.

И тогда мы решили обратиться за помощью к вам, чтобы выкупить это здание.

Но, мы искренне верим, что, несмотря на сложную ситуацию в мире сейчас, найдутся люди, которые смогут выделить небольшую сумму, чтобы сохранить уникальное саманное здание, которое творческие люди из "развалюхи" превратили во всемирно известный культурный центр.
