Help Hunter recover: Mountain Lion Attack

Donation protected
On Friday, January 31st at 6:30 pm, our 7-month-old puppy, Hunter, was attacked by a mountain lion in our yard in Chino Valley. Hunter was not outside unattended. His daddy was with him, taking a photo of our beautiful sunset about 50 yards away, when the lion attacked. His daddy heard Hunter screaming and ran toward him, yelling, to see the mountain lion on top of Hunter with his head in its mouth. Fortunately, it let him go and ran off. He scooped up Hunter, and off we went to Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital.

He has pretty significant injuries to his head, left side of his face, and most worrisome, his left eye. When the cat bit down on his head, it popped his eye out of the socket and punctured his sinus. He has multiple fractures to his skull, face, and jaw as well.

We decided to try to save his eye because he's young and healthy, but the prognosis is fair-good. He may still end up losing it and/or may need lots more veterinary care to save it, which is why I'm setting the goal amount higher than the emergency bill.

It's very hard for me to ask for help for anything, let alone money from strangers. However, if you've been lucky enough to meet Hunter, you know he's worth every penny and then some.

If you'd like to help with his veterinary care, we'd greatly appreciate any amount. If you feel more comfortable donating directly to the office, please contact Circle L in Chino at [phone redacted]. Most of his emergency bill at YEAH was paid with borrowed money from Hunter's Uncle Curtis. Any amount in excess of final Veterinary expenses for Hunter will be donated to Yavapai Humane Trappers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Christi, Jim, Fisher and Hunter
