Hi, I'm Adrian Eustaquio and I host and produce the Inside the Desert Oasis Room podcast. After getting laid off in the Spring of 2016, and struggling to find another job I eventually ventured out on my own and started a podcast. For the past 11 months, my podcast has been my only income. I employ a billing model in which my income is based on the number of advertisements I am able to sell and play per episode. Each ad sponsor is billed for every time their advertisement is played. This is what motivates me to release an episode regularly which in turn, provides new content for our listeners.
On Saturday, September 9th, my podcast was dealt with a significant financial blow. While attending an industry related event in San Francisco, I suffered a "smash and grab" break-in to my rental car and ALL of my podcasting gear was stolen. Because this happened within 24 hours of me arriving to the city, I wasn't able to complete any of the recordings that I had scheduled for that trip and as such, don't have any of those planned episodes to earn any income from. Worse yet, going forward, I no longer have any equipment to record any future episodes to remedy this situation.
As it was before the theft, the podcast was already running very thin financially. Each episode broke even at best so this theft has put the podcast (and me) in a precarious position. Without recording equipment I cannot record any future episodes to earn any income and to put it bluntly, at this moment, the podcast is "dead in the water" making funds needed within the next 7-10 days.
If you are a regular listener to the podcast or if you've enjoyed an episode or two in the past, I humbly ask that you consider helping us get the funds required to replace the equipment needed to get the show back on it's feet. Any donation, no matter the size, will be GREATLY appreciated. With your support, getting the show back on the air gets me back to earning an income. Thanks for your consideration.
Cheers and Aloha,
Adrian Eustaquio
