hello my name is jessica
most people know me as the hard-working do it yourself single mother. I have worked hard all my life for everything I have especially my small and humble home in Riverside California where I raised my 3 children. I was able to purchase the home in 2009 thanks to a loan down payment assistance program offered to low income families.
I became ill going in and out of the hospital several times and no longer being employed. during this time also came the pandemic. I contracted COVID-19 twice. And most all workplaces were shut down which made coping and making ends meet even more challenging.

During this difficult time, my mortgage company allowed me to push back my payments. Eventually, the mortgage company offered me an opportunity to extend my loan length. However, Due to the initial down payment assistance program I received from the city of Riverside, I am unable to refinance to take out equity and pay bills without first paying back The loan to the city of Riverside with interest.
Now, I am afraid time has run out And I’m about to lose my home. A part for my car, the only real tangible asset I own. Aside from my three children, I am alone in this burden. Most of my family have passed away. If I can’t make a good On the past months house payments now, The bank will force me into foreclosure. Selling my home before foreclosure is not an option, As any remaining equity would be eaten up by the two loans against the home (the primary loan with Wells Fargo and the second high interest loan from the city of Riverside down payment assistance program). In addition to lack of equity, My poor credit would prevent me from qualifying for another place. Hence my dilemma.
My little house is virtually all I have left. It is my home and my joy. As independent as I have always been, I am now desperately seeking financial assistance to keep my home. Any amount helps. I pray daily for a miracle. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story.
With blessings, Jessica.
