Help Jet the Tabby Cat Get the Medical Care He Needs

Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts and a hopeful spirit as our beloved 7-year-old tabby cat, Jet, is facing a medical crisis, and we need your help to give him a fighting chance. Jet has been a beloved member of our family for nearly a decade, bringing us endless joy, giggles, and comfort. Now, he needs our help more than ever.

The Emergency:

As of August 26th 2024, Jet was diagnosed with Borderline liver failure, a life-threatening condition that has taken a toll on his health. Upon arrival to the emergency vet, he required an immediate blood transfusion to stabilize his condition and we're facing urgent medical procedures. We're told he will require long-term treatment after to support him. We don't know how much this may be as we move forward, but our first financial step is one we're struggling to take.

As you can imagine, the cost of emergency veterinary care, treatments, and ongoing monitoring is more than overwhelming. Between the blood transfusion, medication, and additional treatments, the bills are quickly piling up.

How You Can Help

We've been charged a bill of $4,000.00 and facing more... We’ve already stretched our resources thin and need immediate help.

We are asking for any urgent support you can offer to help us raise funds for Jet’s medical treatments. Your generous contributions will go directly toward his emergency blood transfusion, liver support treatments, and the anxiety care he desperately needs. No amount is too small – every little bit helps and will make a world of difference for Jet.

UPDATE

“Hey everyone, it’s Adi, Jet’s mama. I wanted to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your support. We were able to admit him into the University of Florida’s animal hospital last night. Jets mental state is very good, he’s stable and of sound mind but his body is struggling to keep up with him. He had his first blood transfusion and as a result endured a small fever which was broken this morning. It is likely that he will need a second one in the oncoming days. After some fluids and care he’s feeling a little better now. I’ll be driving back up to Gainesville to visit with him and hopefully todays tests will be able to determine what exactly is attacking his liver.

UPDATE (09/06/2024)

"Hello everyone, just an update on Jet. We managed to do our best within the budget we had to work with and he has been diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis.

After two blood transfusions and a temporary feeding tube placement he was recommended to receive the rest of his treatment at home. He’s been doing really well with his feedings and his medicine and it’s looking like he is on a very long road to recovery. Thank you so much for all your kindness, support and donations. A big thank you to the University of Florida’s Small Animal Hospital as well.

We'll be closing the gofundme in the next few days so we can put these generous donations towards his treatment as we manage our finances. We thank you again so SO much for all of the support from everyone! You've helped more than can be imagined and Jet can be comfortable in his recovery thanks to all of you" ♥
