Hello,
We have had to temporarily shut down Jimmy Joys Music Room. The Town of Huntsville has put a Stop Operation Notice on our Garage, and if we continue to operate we could be faced with some hefty fines. We were running Jimmy Joys Music Room as a Home Concert Series, but the Town claims that we have converted our Garage into an "Assembly Hall", and cannot operate the way we are.
In order for us to continue as an "Assembly Hall" we have to comply with Planning, change of use and building codes that fall under an Assembly Hall status.
All this will cost us a substantial amount of money, and in order for us to re-open this space and continue offering it to the community we will need some help.
As most of you know, we are not a business, and we do not do this to make a profit, it is purely out of passion for the community and the arts. Joy and I love music, I am also a musician and originally used this space for my band rehearsals etc.
We started bringing in other artists and the word got out. We are now very busy with requests from Artists all across our Country to play in our Garage.
We will be setting up a temporary outdoor space for us to continue, but In order for us to continue we will need help.
Thank you for caring, and thank you for supporting Live Music and Theatre.
We hope you can help us, and help the artists, by keeping this alive in our Community Please share our request and we greatly appreciate your generosity.
**JimmyJoys offers exactly that - an intimate space with wonderful sound and tech, a supportive listening crowd, and a phenomenal group of people who know how to run a live event smoothly and safely. I have received feedback from my artists who have performed at JimmyJoys and they only have fabulous things to say about the venue.**
