SAVE JOE HUBER'S FAMILY FARM

Donation protected
My name is Jenna Clem (Huber).

Any money raised will be used on November 17th, 2018, the day of the auction, in hopes of retaining Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant. In the unfortunate event that we are unable to retain the farm, any money raised will be donated to WHAS Crusade for Children, a charity that was near and dear to both of their hearts. I would like to thank you all again for your continued support.

My father was Joseph Huber lll. I’m sure that most of you reading this also know that my father was killed in a tragic mowing accident at his home on July 27th, 2015. My father devoted his entire life to the farm, as did my grandfather, Joseph Huber Jr. Since the death of both my grandfather and father, there has been a divide in the family. To some, money means more than keeping a family tradition alive. My husband and I have made multiple fair offers to purchase the farm from my aunts and uncles which were not even considered. So I can assure you that the next generation is very interested in keeping their legacy alive. I can say this with certainty, as I am the next generation. After my father died, my husband and I purchased his home. We had no intention on moving there, we just wanted to keep it in the family. So many people in the community have told me they have such fond memories of “the farm”, whether it be from your childhood or as an adult. Whether it was picking pumpkins, the chicken and dumplings, or the fried biscuits and apple butter. I have these fond memories as well. I grew up on this farm and as a child it was the best!  So in July of 2018, we decided to move “to the farm” from our home in Louisville. It was a hard decision that I struggled with. I didn’t know if I could live there comfortably and look at the spot in the backyard where that tragic accident happened in 2015 that turned my world upside down. However, I wanted my 2 boys to experience the amazing childhood that I was so lucky to have had. And they LOVE it here! And I love it here, too. Since then, we have become more involved with the business. I have never known a world without a Joe Huber’s Farm.  And I don’t want to experience that world, honestly. I have to fight to keep my fathers legacy, as well as my grandfathers, alive. They were two of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met. When I was a little girl the strawberry patch was literally my front yard. I remember sitting out there and eating delicious strawberries while waiting on my ride for school in the mornings. I remember my dad getting up at all hours of the night to set up irrigation pipes so the crops wouldn’t freeze. And never once did he complain about doing it. He put his blood, sweat, and tears into everything he did.  He always told me “Always do the right thing and always have integrity. Without integrity, you are nothing.” My father was the definition of integrity.  He always did what he thought was to be the right thing. He also always told us to “Dream Big and WORK HARD!” So I will. I refuse to let his legacy die. And I will work hard and fight to help it live on.  However, I cannot do it alone. We are asking for the community’s help so that we can continue to give back to the community. Any money raised will be used on November 17th, 2018, the day of the auction, in hopes of retaining Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant. In trying to be as transparent as possible, despite what the public perception may or may not be, we are not millionaires. My husband and I are also prepared to add our own personal funds, in hopes to continue my father and grandfathers legacy. In the unfortunate event that we are unable to retain the farm, any money raised will be donated to WHAS Crusade for Children, a charity that was near and dear to both of their hearts. I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support.
