Save Johan's Paraíso: Support Local Business

Montclair please HELP!

Johan’s wonderful restaurant Paraíso, Dominican food which has been here for 17 years - is being crushed by the horrific anti immigration tactics at play.

He will go out of business in a matter of days if we ALL don’t support him.

His food is amazing, he is an angel, and this is a small MONTCLAIR business that we don’t want to lose.

Please go and eat there or order take out, cater your events, or donate if you can. He has debts and has been living very frugally for quite a while.

Many of Johan’s regular customers are our kids at the highschool but most are the Latino and Hispanic landscapers and construction folks who service this town. They go to him for their comfort food from home. He has always kept his prices low for them. He describes many of them as friends, a kind of family who have even danced a little amongst the tables to his great music.

But now they have all DISAPPEARED - afraid to go to work, afraid to be on the streets where they are being asked to show their ID. They are no longer making money and neither is Johan.

Please go and buy his delicious food, or if you feel so called- be generous here if you can. There are also other ways to help- firstly spread the word that this is a great place to eat. If you have expertise and can advise him business wise, please do. If you could paint a mural on his building to help his little restaurant be more noticeable, please try to make that a project. If you can help with a little interior design help, please start that project and ask for community help- people will join in! Let’s be creative and come together to help this good man who has worked very hard to stay afloat for many years and who has given a lot of people the welcome and comfort of Paraíso!
