Thank you for your ongoing support of our work.

Since we started Kino-Teatr 8 years ago, we have enjoyed your enthusiastic response to our efforts to make an exciting, creative, inclusive environment at the heart of the St. Leonards community. As an arts venue, we need to maintain an essential connection with you when programming our versatile events - To reflect the creative achievements of our wonderful town, we have worked together with the talented local creative community. Kino-Teatr has had inspirational feedback from its invited guests, such as Sir David Hare, actors Paul McGann, Bill Nighy, Julian Sands and Brian Gleeson, directors David Caffrey and Mike Figgis, singers Liane Carroll and Sarah Jane Morris, to name a few. The growing sense of community and seeing our audience enjoy and appreciate our programme has been the single most rewarding experience throughout our 24/7 engagement at Kino-Teatr.

Unfortunately our venue is under constant threat due to the current economic conditions. On top of this we have had major flooding from above ( the roof ) which closed us for a week and below, ( our basement ) which also closed us for a week all severely affecting our ability to run events. We also had to close recently for one week due to a major burst pipe in the St Leonards area, with over several thousand pounds worth of revenue lost. We have always prided ourselves on self-sufficiency and held back from reaching out for assistance from our audience when it has kindly been offered. Our target is set at £40,000. Kino-teatr have been spending approximately £15-20,000 each year on general repairs to an old building that is rented under a full repairing lease, including repointing, blocked drains, electrical repairs, roof repairs that are ongoing, window repairs, including several large broken windows, the list is endless but we are passionate about our arts venue. Your kind donations can make an essential difference in keeping the cultural heart of St Leonards beating.
