Hi, my name is Kira. I’m a 4-year-old German Shepherd living in a small town in Colombia with my mom, who is retired. My siblings have moved abroad, so I’m the only companion she has.

We’ve shared so many happy moments together, and I want nothing more than to spend Christmas and the New Year with her.

Unfortunately, I was recently diagnosed with heartworm, and I’ve spent over 10 days hospitalized.

The treatment is expensive, and where I live, there’s no pet insurance to help cover the costs. My mom has been doing everything she can to take care of me, but the medical bills are becoming overwhelming.

The doctors say that if we can’t keep up with my treatment, the only option left will be to give me medicine to help me sleep forever. I don’t want to leave my mom alone, especially now during the holidays.
