Update: Kova is Slowly Recovering, But I’m Struggling

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your kindness and support—it truly means the world to me. Kova is slowly getting better, and I’m so grateful to see him improving each day. He’s still not 100%, but he’s on the right track with his recovery. We have more vet visits and medications ahead, but I’m holding onto hope that he’ll continue to heal.

Unfortunately, the financial burden of his care has taken a serious toll on me. I had to take out a loan to cover his emergency vet bills, and with his upcoming treatments, I’m facing even more expenses that I’m struggling to afford. I wouldn’t change a thing because he means everything to me, but the reality is, I’m in severe financial distress.

Hi everyone,

My name is Mikayla, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart for help saving my best friend, Kova. Kova isn’t just my pet—he’s my entire world. He was born on my bed four years ago and has been attached to my hip ever since. He’s the sweetest soul, wanting nothing more than to cuddle with every person he meets.

Last night, I had to rush Kova to the emergency animal hospital. He was in unbearable pain and unable to urinate. The vets diagnosed him with a severe urinary blockage and feline lower urinary tract disease, with a large amount of struvite crystals. His kidneys were also struggling due to the blockage.

Due to financial constraints, I could only afford the outpatient treatment, which still cost $1,800—money I didn’t have but had no choice but to spend to give him a chance. Unfortunately, Kova is already developing another blockage, and I simply don’t have the funds for another treatment. Without immediate medical care, my only option will be to put him down, or he will pass away in pain.

I am absolutely devastated. Kova has been with me through everything, and I can’t imagine losing him because I can’t afford the care he needs. If you are able to donate anything, even a few dollars, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit helps, and if you can’t donate, please share Kova’s story.
