Save Lady Bernice!

Thank you folks for following the story on Lady Bernice. As many of you know, Lady Bernice was freed yesterday, October 17, 2016 surviving Hurricane Matthew. Captain Charles Abner and Lady Bernice were tossed around by the forceful 110mph winds of Hurricane Matthew on October 8, 2016 and landed itself against the Squire Pope dock on Skull Creek. Lady Bernice, the wooden shrimp trawler that weighs 80 tons was wedged deep in the mud. It took many volunteers and prayers to free this Lady. While we celebrate this victory, Lady Bernice did not sail away without damages. Not only did she suffer cosmetic damages on its sides, more importantly her radar and electronics went out. She also suffered a broken propeller. Captain Charles Abner who is in his 60s planned on working the Lady as much as he can in its current condition until all repairs are fixed. A humble man who doesn’t ask for much is relieved just to get his Lady back out to sea and start shrimping. If you would like to be part of SAVE LADY BERNICE project, this is where you can help. Please donate to this fund to help SAVE LADY BERNICE. The repairs are going to run into thousands of dollars and every dollar donated matters. There’s no contribution too small. Your prayers help too so please don’t stop praying for this worthy cause. I love our community and this is what we do best…coming together helping and loving on one another. Blessed day everyone and thank you for your donation.
