Save LA's Ballona Wetlands from Threat
Donation protected
As an environmental advocate on the Los Angeles coast, for 30 years I've worked to protect the Ballona Wetlands, a mosaic of fragile coastal habitats located in the heart of the Pacific Flyway - a migratory pathway for birds and butterflies, as well as a year-round home to a diverse array of wildlife and rare native plant populations.
This place is once again at risk, as the fossil fuel industry attempts to expand its operations, which do not belong anywhere near a state ecological reserve.
Our strongest remedy remains to be in Court, where California's environmental laws still stand firm. There also are numerous decision-makers in elected office who could help.
We must make the case for our lawyers, and this takes a significant amount of time and effort to create a record for the Court.
We also must organize and educate the community in order to be able to make the case to the decision-makers.
This week - Earth Day week - we need to raise $1,100.
Please contribute today so the beautiful endangered and rare wild animals, including so many bird and butterfly species, are able to thrive.
