hello, all. we are writing, with utmost humility, to ask for your help.
jill & i worked together decades ago at a couple of places, then lost touch. in the fall of 2009 we happened to run into each other and decided we could probably open a pretty good restaurant. the result was lecosho.
it's been just about 10 years now. we have wonderful regular guests like you -- family, really -- and our excellent & experienced staff, family for sure. we have fed you, entertained you, catered your wakes & weddings. all was good until Covid-19.
this is truly an unprecedented time in our lives. pandemic, government-mandated closures, sheltering, isolation. lecosho had no choice but to close down, lay off our staff of 35, and shut the doors. times are hard. when this all plays out, we want more than anything to come back, but our future is uncertain. the profit margins on a restaurant, at the best of times, are slim, and this is way worse. we need to be able to build back up, to rehire, to get back to making the food we all love.
that is why we are reaching out to you -- our community of regulars, family, staff and purveyors -- so that we can open our doors after this crisis and bring everyone back together for food, comfort and companionship. food heals. please, help us today by making a contribution of any size so that we can cover costs like payroll, taxes, rent and relief for our family of staff.
in return for your donation, we're offering:
$100 we will provide lunch for 4 healthcare workers
$250 wine paired dinner for two @ lecosho (after stay at home order ends)
$500 Lecosho farm tour with CSA box & lunch for 2
$750 (first 2 donations only) foraging expedition for 8 with award winning author & local forager Langdon Cook
$850 In Home World whisky tasting for 8 with whisky expert and Lecosho alum Kevin Obis paired with Lecosho charcuterie and cheese
$1000 Matt Janke & chef Cody Westerfield will cater a meal for 6 at your home inspired by dishes from Provence.
$1500 Matt Janke & Chef Cody Westerfield will cater a tapas & paella party for 8 at your home
