I'm reaching out today with a story that's both infuriating and heart-wrenching. It's about my dear friend, Anne Greene, a genuine hero who's been through an unimaginable hell and needs our help.
On April 17, 2015, Anne did something most of us hope we'd have the courage to do, she intervened to save a stranger from a violent attack. This selfless act of bravery had a devastating cost. Anne was severely beaten, suffering injuries that ended her promising career and left her with a traumatic brain injury. The attackers were eventually arrested, tried, convicted and ordered to pay Anne a $34M settlement…That’s when her nightmare turned into a living hell. The attackers, despite their despicable actions, have faced no real consequences. Thanks to their wealth and connections, they've managed to avoid prison time, continuing to live their lives of luxury. Meanwhile, Anne has been left to struggle, her life upended. Despite winning a $34 million settlement, she hasn't received a penny due to the attackers' legal maneuverings. Anne's bravery has come at a high price. She's been subjected to ongoing harassment and threats, and making her daily life a constant battle for safety and peace. Now, to add insult to injury, Anne is on the brink of homelessness due to the enormous cost of trying to protect herself and seek justice while struggling to find work she can do within her specific injuries.
This is where you come in. I’m rallying to raise $25,000 to provide Anne with the immediate support she desperately needs. This fund will help secure safe housing for Anne and her emotional support dog, Blitz, cover living expenses, and afford her a measure of security she hasn't felt in years.
