Save Marys Little Alteration Shop

Mary is the kindest, most hard working person I know. She’s also my mom. This little alteration shop is her dream come true. The business has allowed my wonderful mother to become independent, and to support her child as a single parent. When she first opened in 2007 she had no idea what she was doing, but through hard work, determination, and lots of failures, she has managed to get to where she is today. She worked 15 hour days for years on end to keep things afloat because she couldn’t afford to hire any employees. It’s so heartbreaking that she could lose her pride and joy to something completely out of her control. COVID-19 has affected everyone and it has been so hard to see my mom coming to the realization that she might lose her business that she built from scratch and nothing more than pure determination. She's beloved here in our community of West Vancouver. If you Google her business and read her reviews she has nothing but loving customers admiring her work and her spirit. We can’t go anywhere in our neighbourhood without people stopping to say hello. She has not only built a business, but a home here. 


I don’t want to see my mom lose her business. I’m hoping I can raise just enough to cover her business rent for three months. Unfortunately, due to how the Canada Emergency Business loan has been set up, sole-proprietorships are not eligible to apply. She has applied to CERB and  that just covers her rent and groceries. 


I’m hoping that the community can band together and help her through this tough time. Any little bit helps and we would be so eternally grateful, even if you can’y contribute financially, you can just share this link and it would be the same thing :) As a thank you for whatever donation you make, the shop will offer a free pant hem alteration <3
