Save Meghan Casey's Livelihood Post-Hurricane

My name is Meghan Casey and I am a professional ventriloquist based out of Knoxville, TN. I travel all around the country performing educational programs at schools, libraries, festivals, and a lot of other venues.

Due to Hurricane Helene, I had 67 shows cancelled due to the devastation in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. Two months worth of income was completely stripped away in a matter of 24 hours. For the past month, I have been driving for Uber to try and make ends meet; however, I am unable to earn an adequate amount to keep my head and business above water. Unfortunately, I'm in a very difficult situation right now where I'm unable to pay my rent and my car is in the position of getting repossesed since I have been unable to make the monthly payments on my vehicle.

I just worked extremely hard to earn the $1900 needed to pay my car; however, that payment unknowingly went towards the principal balance, and the loan company is unable to reverse it. Therefore, they are requesting that I pay an additional $1900 towards the payments that were past due by November 3rd, which I don't have. I also just paid any leftover money I had for vehicle maintenance so I can continue driving to try and earn money to pay bills.

For my livelihood, and for me to be able to earn money, I NEED my car. It is essential for everything that I do when it comes to traveling for shows, and for me to drive for Uber to earn money right now and get by.

I applied for Disaster Assistance SBA Loan; however, since I don't LIVE in the effected area, I am unable to receive any sort of funding.
