Help Danielle Wolf with Mina's Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
Hello,

Danielle Wolf and Wheeler Lentz need our help! Their 6 year old Bull Terrier, Mina has been hospitalized at an emergency vet called COVE since 3/6/25.

Danielle has been a wonderful part of the Bull Terrier community donating art to clubs and rescue and volunteering! Please help Danielle Wolf save her heart dog, Mina!

Mina and her family have been through a horrible ordeal and her family has been on a rollercoaster ride of many possible diagnosis'.

First the vets were sure she had an obstruction. This warrented emergency surgery, but unfortunately they found nothing obstructive when they opened her up! She had to pay full price for this unnecessary surgery.

Then they said she had Ileus (lack of intestinal mobility) and fluid was backing up into her stomach. They had to place an NG tube to drain fluid from her stomach.

Then they said she may have pancreatitis so they started treatment for that. She also developed free fluid in her abdomen and developed a fever. They were worried about sepsis from the surgery. Luckily she didn't have sepsis but was started on antibiotics for the fever.

Mina has continued to decline, She has developed Bile Peritonitis, she is leaking free fluid into her stomach and her Bilirubin levels are elevating daily. She has developed a clotting disorder in result of this, so time is of the essence for surgery. This will be an exploratory surgery in lieu of a CT Scan. After consulting OSU and MedVet they feel a CT scan will not show what they need due to increased inflammation. Their concerns are her Gallbladder, which may need removed, and obstruction of the bile duct (where they would place a stint, or possibly a perforation in the bile duct that does not have a good outcome.

They have had several glimmers of hope when the fever resolved and she started eating, keeping down meals and having tiny bowel movements (signs of gut mobility). They removed her NG tube and she got to go home for a day. Then she backslid and became jaundiced and had more fluid build up in her stomach warrenting surgery.

Mina is going through the ringer with tests, treatments, hospitalization and now another surgery and her family is tapped out financially with no 100% answer.

The procedure plus diagnostics and treatment for the first 48 hours hit $10,000! Fortunately she has pet insurance but that was the out of pocket maximum hit. Nothing else covered after that, plus she has a high deductible plus MANY uncovered expenses.

Mina's family needs help covering the huge bill she already has plus further diagnostics, treatment and surgery!

Please help if you can! You may also donate directly to her through PayPal (send message for email address) or Venmo @Danielle-Wolf-26 so that she gets the money quickly as cards are tapped out.

Thank you for any help!

••••EMERGENCY SURGERY UPDATE••••
Mina made it through surgery but it is still touch and go! They are giving her a guarded prognosis. She is a fighter, and her stoicism almost worked to her detriment. The Doctor said a normal dog would have been acting much sicker with everything going on. In true Bull Terrier Fashion, he really was amazed she was still bright, happy and people oriented for her being so critical.
The surgery took longer than expected and she is taking longer to wake up and get warmed up. She has become very anemic, so they are giving her plasma and she may need a blood transfusion tonight.
**She had a tear/rupture in her Gallbladder. There were a lot of adhesions on stomach and organs that needed to be broke down, there was a lot of sludge in the bile duct that was flushed and removed. There is still a lot of swelling that hopefully will start to recede with the fluid gone.
Most likely the pancreatitis blocked the bile duct causing things to back up and tear/rupture her Gallbladder. They flushed her abdomen to get rid of all the free fluid and bile and put in a drain to remove any extra fluid that would continue to build up. They will be reinserting the NG tube and trying to get a jump on nutrition through tube feeding.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, the next 48 hours are going to be the fight of life!
