Greetings, all. I am Bayar Tserendolgor, founder and director of Nogoonkharsh (Greencastle in English) I've spent 42 years of my life working in agronomy and forestry. We're raising funds to support Mongolian nomads in their efforts to plant 1 million trees and restore the grasslands and fight against climate crisis in Mongolia. Join our important mission and help make this happen.
Greencastle is one of the few companies in Ulaanbaatar dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and addressing climate impact. I'm launching this #milliontreemongolia green movement and crowdfunding campaign, so please join us.
Mongolia is facing desertification due to climate change, Mongolia's once lush grasslands are turning into deserts, threatening the livelihoods of thousands of nomads who depend on these lands for their survival, manifesting in the form of massive sandstorms, desertification, and harsh winters, causing difficulty for nomadic herders to find fertile grasslands and leading to the loss of livestock and human struggles.
The only way to combat this issue is by planting trees, which can create a green barrier and reverse desertification by preventing soil erosion and providing nutrients for other plants and crops to grow.
In our community of tree nurseries, we have nearly a million trees available for transplanting, but we need your financial support to make this plan a reality. The combination of Mongolia's sparse population, expansive land area, and arid climate make the task of planting trees both difficult and costly. Additionally, securing financial resources to support tree-planting efforts in Mongolia is a significant challenge.
