Sprite and Moogle are two kittens who need help with thier fight from FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). They need support to help with the cost of treatment. There are no FDA approved medications but we are treating both Moogle & Sprite through the FIP Warrior Project. Look them up online... this is an amazing group of volunteers helping to save many many kitties diagnosed with FIP.
A couple of years ago, this diagnosis was a death sentence, but today there is treatment!
Moogle and Sprite are foster kittens with a local rescue in Durham, NC, and they are both in separate foster homes being cared for by their foster parents. We have successfully treated many cats with this treatment. Many cats, even those failing and crashing quickly, have a major improvement within a week of beginning treatment if treatment can be started ASAP. Luckily for Moogle & Sprite, treatment was implemented quickly and they are already on their journey to being 100% well.
Moogle & Sprite are doing well; they are both stable after a week of treatment, eating well, playing again, gaining weight, and the fluid in their abdomen has decreased or completely gone already.
Team Moogle & Team Sprite- we need your help. This treatment is expensive and can seem to some like a lot to spend on one cat- however a trip to the vet for a sick animal can quickly rack up to $1500 or more in a few hours. We beleive in helping any animal in need and if they are fighting, we want to fight with them and give them the chance they deserve and that they are fighting for. This treatment can cost about $1000 and up for each cat; this includes medication, supplies, supplements, and recheck visits to get bloodwork done every four weeks to check progress. Treatment involves one injection daily and providing spectacular animal husbandry.
Now, the best part... about the cats!!
Sweet Moogle is such a sweetheart!
LOVES to sit near humans, pets, and purring.
Moogle and his sister Meep were born in a shelter along with their 2 other siblings. Through a local rescue, Mommy Patty and her four babies were taken into a foster home at a day old. He and his sister Meep were born in a shelter and have nothing but love for people. We are returning that same love, giving Moogle the chance he deserves, and determined to get him well.
Moogle is currently day 11 into treatment, stable, gaining weight, and soooo playful!! Moogle is enjoying playing again and running around the house with his subling and 2 other foster cat friends.
Sprite!! This girl is such a gem!
I am the purrfect package of all things cat. I am a sweet smart girl who loves to cuddle and to climb around and play.
I am so brave that when my two brothers and I first moved into a home with humans, they were so scared that I would get in front of them and get all the petting until they were comfortable enough to do the same.
I quickly learned laps were the best place to be, and being petted is in my top five favorite things. I also discovered toys on stick! Have you seen those things? I think humans may call them wand toys. They also make it into my top five fave things. Other things that make the cut are my foster parents, who are so sweet and caring; they are also so brave by taking care of me to help me become well and no longer sick from FIP. I also love Churu treats aka kitty gogurt, aka kitty push up pops! And lets not forget naps!
We would be highly grateful for any and all positive thoughts and donations to our treatment plan for Moogle and Sprite. Remember to share this fundraiser to anyone you know.
Anything above their needs will be used to help other foster cats in our care or other kitties in the community diagnosed with FIP, so we can help others in our situation.
Thank you so much from ALL of us, especially Sprite and Moogle!
