Save Murphy: A Lifeline for a Loving Family Dog

Hey everyone, this is Murphy. He spent the beginning of his life in one home until divorce he got placed in the shelter. He has since jumped from house to house 4 times. Well, we decided to keep him and my kids, husband and I have fallen in love. When I got him the previous (previous) owner was aware of a skin rash and pink eye and didn’t tell me, I took him to our vet right away and we have plans to take him and get him service dog trained dog for my husband with ptsd and depression from his time as a police officer.

Fast forward, he pooped a small item that looked like a sock but wasn’t showing any issues other than that. Fast forward to last night, he started throwing up and doing the dog prayer, he threw up a partial toy he swallowed from the previous house he was at that had to be taken from him for shredding. I instantly took him to the animal ER last night. 1400$ for his xray and ultrasound, he’s OBSTRUCTED with linear material from the toy that he ate before I took him home from their house. $9000 for surgery. I don’t know what to do. I can’t drop that money, i don’t have it and don’t even have him set up on insurance because he’s so new. I’m so heartbroken and don’t know what to do. I’m a mess and my husband is too, this dog was to help his depression and be loved and stay in one place. But unfortunately he came from a home where he already had eaten this. I don’t know my options or resources. Please help with any advice or any way you can. Let’s save Murph!
