Save Murrumbeena Village

Developers have lodged an application for a development at 430-434 Neerim Road, Murrumbeena. This site most recently hosted a Foodworks supermarket. The application originally included plans to demolish the existing historic building, the oldest commercial building in Murrumbeena, to make way for 100+ student apartments over 9+ levels. It was rejected by Council and the developer has appealed this decision at VCAT, with amended plans. A group of neighbours have come together to formally object to this development, to ensure that the development is appropriate for our community. We are raising money so that we can engage some professionals to help with the upcoming VCAT hearing. Any money not paid directly to a professional (qualified town planner, lawyer/barrister etc) or if we do not for some reason engage such professional/s, we will refund all money (less fees charged by gofundme).
