Save Northwood Acting Studio and Help Move From G-Unit

I started this campaign on behalf of the students and community supporters of Northwood Acting Studio to save something and someone important in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Northwood Acting Studio was founded eight years ago, by working film and TV actor, and Northwest Louisiana native, Garrett Kruithof. Since then, Northwood Acting Studio has been functioning at the former Millennium Studios, which is now a property of G-Unit. There was an annual lease in place until the City of Shreveport purchased the building but has been month to month with no guarantees since then. Now that 50 Cent has leased the entire campus we are housed on, the studio needs a new place immediately.

This campaign is about more than just relocation. The vision is for a permanent, dedicated space, with the studio's ability to develop talent and constantly offer professional-level services.

The requirements of this space are not small: We need plenty of parking as well as a safe location because classes primarily occur at night. Moreover, while acting classes can be held anywhere, the specialized facilities that were turnkey professional spaces at G-Unit are something the studio will likely need to construct in any new space.

Garrett can’t do this alone. He needs our help and he’s too proud to ask for it so that’s where we, his supporters, come in.

Here’s what your support will enable:

Acquisition of a new, safe, and accessible location with ample parking.

Construction of specialized spaces to offer professional acting and taping services.

Our hope would be a permanent residence to ensure Northwood Acting Studio remains a bedrock for Shreveport’s working and aspiring actors but at the very least with our financial help Garrett can secure a new lease and buy the furnishings and equipment needed to replace the ones that were included in the old facility lease and get back up and going again.
