Save Onteora Hill in Eagle Rock
Donation protected
We are members of the Onteora Hillside Alliance. We strive to protect the last hillside in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles, California. Attempts at re-zoning and over-development threaten the 80+-year-old Protected Coastal Live Oaks partial woodland, our native Wildlife Corridor and the cultural pre-history of a possible indigenous (Tatavium-Tongva-Gabrieleno) trading center. We endeavor to see this land protected into perpetuity for the benefit of Eagle Rock residents and all Angelenos for generations to come.
Our community of neighbors and volunteers have diligently worked with elected officials and other stakeholders for 15+ years to preserve this natural habitat from a proposed subdivision development. Now there is a need to hire a land use/real estate attorney due to changes in the development status. We require our community's and the public's assistance to raise the necessary funds to support a limited-scope agreement to ensure we are fairly represented in our pursuit to save this hillside and protect the public's interest. Thank you in advance for any financial support you can offer.
