Save our Baby Foster Care Accommodation

We really need your help to repair our Baby Foster Care accommodation block.

Today, over 3 million children in Kenya are abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable. Sadly, there are many reasons why: poor education (especially for the young) and lack of family planning/ awareness; school-age mothers unable to cope; mothers with multiple births over-burdened and under resourced and incest, considered a curse on the community, putting babies at risk of being murdered.

At Mercy Rescue our mission is to secure loving homes for abandoned babies, prioritising family reunification, then local adoption and fostering, but always to provide the highest level of care, nurture and education even if that means into adulthood.

12 of our team members look after a baby in their own homes as Baby Foster Parents until a permanent family solution is found, with the charity providing all their needs during such time. Two of these team members live in a house that was built by Mercy Rescue on our property.

Unfortunately the accommodation block has started to subside on one side of the building creating large cracks in the walls. This means the building has become unsafe. The building needss to be repaired for our staff and their families to safely live in and continue to give the best care for our babies.

The cost of all the repair works is predicted to come to around £4,500.
