Support Our Farm Sanctuary!

The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary is a private 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in order to shelter rescued farm and other animals in a safe environment. The Farm Sanctuary is dedicated to fostering relationships among its sanctuary animals and the people who visit. The Farm Sanctuary serves our community by providing tours, volunteer experiences and events for youths and adults. Visitors can learn about, interact with and help care for a variety of animals. The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary is a working farm situated on 11 acres in Prince William County, Virginia. The Farm Sanctuary was originally formed in 2017 and is funded entirely through memberships, donations, animal sponsorships and non-cash contributions. The Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary is managed by Renee Small and overseen by a board of directors.

We have over 300 animals that reside full time at the farm. Our animals are horses, pigs, donkeys, cows, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs and cats as well as one turkey and a turtle. The vast majority of our animals have been rescued from circumstances involving neglect, abuse and or abandonment. We provide a valuable up-close learning experience for our visitors on the unique natures of our resident animals as well as their care. Supervised activities that visitors can participate in at the Farm Sanctuary include grooming and feeding the animals as well as cleaning their living areas.

Our visitors include disabled children and adults, veterans and active members of the military, first responders as well as school groups, families, volunteers and other individuals. We currently work with the Fairfax-Falls Church County Community Services Board, an organization that provides services to youths and adults with mental illness, substance abuse disorders and/or developmental disabilities. We are also engaged with Patriot High School’s EMPLOY program. In addition, the Farm Sanctuary works with Willing Warriors, which provides cost free getaways for active duty military and veterans. The Farm Sanctuary has also engaged with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Horses Help Heroes and TAPS, which provides support for bereaved military survivors.
