Save Our FOBS Hub

We are a charity made up of parent and teacher volunteers, based at a large Primary School in Luton. We host events throughout the school year to fund raise for the school. All the proceeds we raise are donated directly back to the school. We provide much needed equipment so all the children can benefit. Our fund raising primarily comes from the events in which we host throughout the year, including a Summer, Easter and Christmas Fete, Discos, Movie Nights, Quiz night, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father's Day shop, Afternoon Teas and Snacks with Santa.

We have raised funds for many things including a new library and resource centre, home economic equipment/room, outdoor gym equipment, reading books, math equipment, IT equipment and free after school clubs’ equipment.

At school space is premium and running events at school proves tricky for this reason. We have an old music hut which we use to sort prizes, run Christmas shop/Father’s Day shop/Mother’s Day shop as well as other smaller events.

Unfortunately, due to a leak, the building suffered extensive water damage. The Christmas shop of 2021 was run with buckets collecting the water as it dripped through the ceiling. Christmas shop 2022 was run in inadequate conditions. We have managed to fix the leaking ceiling, by repairing the roof, but unfortunately the floor and walls still need considerable maintenance.

If we are able to get the building in good condition, we are hoping to run a second-hand uniform stall and book shop out of there, as well as continuing with our seasonal shops and having smaller after school fundraising events. All of these would allow us to continually raise much needed funds for the school as government cuts make our contribution more important than ever. As it stands the building is not fit for purpose, this grant along with our fund raising can really make a huge difference in the ongoing fund raising for the school.
