Save our precious Diamond

This post has been created in attempt to save Diamond's life.

Diamond and his family need help. They do not like asking and especially when everyone is doing it tough but please take a moment to read Diamond’s blog.
We then ask you to take a moment to share Diamond’s page with your contacts.

Diamond is a kind loving four-legged fur child.
He joined his current family home in August 2018 at age 5 and from the moment he arrived it was like he had always been there. He shared the bed with his human brother from the first night. Initially he had a comfy bed on the bedroom floor but that was not comfy enough and by morning human brother found Diamond sleeping beside him taking up half of the queen bed.

Over the coming weeks Diamond and I will share his journey but let us start with WHY this page has been created.

Yesterday at 2pm Diamond was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma of the spleen. This is spleen cancer in dogs. Splenic hemangiosarcoma in dogs is very dangerous because there are very few signs of the cancer until the spleen either ruptures or the cancer happens to be spotted on a routine abdominal radiograph and in this case was found during a general check-up.

Diamond’s hemangiosarcoma is large sitting at 15cm x 20cm. He is in urgent need of surgery to have the spleen and mass removed. If it is not removed as soon as possible he could bleed to death internally.

Yes, we (Diamond and his family) are asking for help.
A bit about Diamond’s family situation and why they have to put their pride aside and ask for help.

Like everyone in the world, we are all doing it tougher than ever before but I (Diamond’s current mum) needs to do all I can to save him or at least make him comfortable and give him a little longer.

Human parent dad is not happy we are sharing our personal details but human mum has always lived by her motto; it doesn’t hurt to ask, all you can get is a no, but at least you won’t sit and be pondering the what ifs.

As I said like everyone, we are doing it tough and why we are asking for help is because a couple of months ago we paid over $1500 to save our other fur baby Ruby as she had to have a partial paw amputation due to a cancer. We are hoping they got all the cancer before it spread.

A couple of weeks later we were given a notice to leave our rental house of four years. That threw us into the current rental crisis battle. We are lucky and have secured a home but at a huge expense. The move is costing a lot of money, bond, rent in advance, double rent for two houses as current owner wont release us early and added removalist cost. And to add to it all our regos are in plus insurance premiums. Diamond’s current medical examination cost $1000 yesterday just to receive this diagnosis that we paid. Now we have been handed the cost of the treatment and we are heartbroken, stressed and scrambling to find a solution to help Diamond. We would never hesitate to treat our babies medical needs but I don't have the money available.

We have mind mapped a lot of strategies and this option of asking for help is one of them.

So, What is the help we are asking for?

We first ask for you to share Diamond’s page to everyone you know. The more that see it the better chance we have of reaching our goal.

Next, we admit we are looking for a donation towards Diamond’s vet costs. Our goal to save his life and prolong his life. To do this it will cost approximately $3400. I will upload a picture of the quote.

We are asking if you can spare just $1 and share with all your friends, we might have a chance.
The vet has said Diamond is a ticking time bomb with the current size of the mass. This is a matter of urgency.

Our pledge to all who support us.

If Diamond runs out of time all donations will be given to Qld Staffy & Amstaff Rescue or provided to our Vet to provide to another family who is battling to help their fur baby. This decision will be made with the help of the supporters if we should have to make it.

A lot of people will say he is just a dog, why spend so much money?

He is not just a dog.

He is a member of our family. He is extremely kind and loving. He supports us emotionally. He contributes to the smiles, laughs and lazy afternoons. He also deserves to live as long as we deserve to live and not have his life cut short.

We hate to ask but if you can spare $1 or a little more, we appreciate more than you know.
