Palm Harbor House of Beer was established in 2010 and has become a staple of the community. It very much feels like you would expect "Cheers" to feel.
In 2020, we were hit with an unprecedented event, the Covid pandemic. During that time, our only source of income was selling beer to go, and while many people went out of their way to fill their growlers or get a 6-pack, it was nowhere near enough. We applied for all the PPP loans and got enough to take care of the staff and pay most of the bills, but it was never enough to get caught up, especially with our landlord.
For the past 4 years, we have been trying to whittle down our debt with the landlord, (8 months rent with CAM fee adjustments) and things were looking reasonable until our air conditioning unit died at the beginning of summer. Both compressors had to be replaced, and we are responsible for the repairs of the unit. This repair, with parts and installation, put us back 10k, which in turn undid any progress we had made on paying off our debt from Covid. Try as we might, we will never get out of the debt we are in unless we have help, and the landlord is demanding we resolve this issue immediately.
We feel like Palm Harbor House of Beer is more than just a beer bar. It is a special place and it is special not because of the product, or the location, but because of the people. Over the years, we have met some of the best people you could imagine, and many of us will remain friends for all time. We feel blessed to have met so many people over the last 14 years. It only takes a little from everybody to make this work. If you have been here, you know how truly unique of a place it is. If you want to come back, we need your help and we need it soon.
