SAVE Paso Nogal - Stop High-Density Housing
Donation protected
Citizens of Pleasant Hill and enthusiasts of Paso Nogal Park,
It is CRITICAL that you are aware of the City of Pleasant Hill's, 2023-2031 Housing Element (6th Edition), as this element proposes rezoning two neighboring lots of Paso Nogal Park for the development of TWO high-density housing complexes (298 units). These untouched, vacant lots are engrained in the Paso Nogal ecosystem, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods and communities.
If the plan is approved, the 5.7 acre site at the corner of Morello/ Paso Nogal (APN 154140015) AND the 3.27 acre site on the Paso Nogal Hillside (APN 152010004), will be rezoned for high-density development (30-40 units/ acre) constructing nearly 300 units. This development would create irreparable damage to Pleasant Hill's largest regional park (Paso Nogal Park), as well as devastate the infrastructure, neighborhoods, services, and residents that reside in this area.
WE MUST ACT NOW. On THURSDAY, MAY 18 2023 (5:00pm), the City of Pleasant Hill City Council will hold a special meeting to conduct a public hearing to consider this recommendation from the Planning Commission. Meeting link at: https://www.pleasanthillca.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=644
We ask that you join us by signing this petition to show support and demand that Mayor Tim Flaherty, and the Pleasant Hill City Council reject the plan to rezone Morello Terraces (APN 154140015) and Paso Nogal Hill (APN 152010004) and look for alternative sites to satisfy the 2023-2031 Housing Element.
PLEASE SUPPORT US! Donations will pay for printing, banners, and flyers so we can get the word out.
