Save Pepé: Urgent Tail Amputation Needed
Donation protected
My precious boy needs a tail amputation in order to stop the spread of necrotic infection and save his life.
Tail necrosis is a “common condition in pet bearded dragons that can be devastating if left untreated…Within a short period, the toe or tip of the tail becomes discolored (dark), often becomes infected, and then dies, dries out, and hardens. Necrosis and infection can spread up the tail or toes to other surrounding body areas.”
This condition requires aggressive treatment; surgical amputation of the dead tissue and surrounding infection needs to be carried out ASAP in order to save Pepé’s life.
I fell in love with baby Pepé when I first saw him at the top of his enclosure at the Tucson Reptile Expo. He was basking in the heat lamp, all of his siblings perched underneath him.
I was going into the start of my sophomore year of college. He was going into the start of his 6th week of life. He fit in the palm of my hand.
We’ve spent the past ten years watching each other grow.
He is my best friend—the only creature who has been by my side through thick and thin here in Tucson. He is my entire support system here, as all of my family lives on the opposite side of the country. He is the one constant and stable thing in my life.
I would do anything to be able to enjoy several more years with him.
He is otherwise healthy, well taken care of, and full of life; confirmed by the veterinarian.
I’m between a rock and a hard place financially as it is, trying to save money to visit my mother who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
I am unable to afford both of these issues—financially or emotionally.
ANY amount of donations made towards saving my baby are appreciated beyond words & will indirectly improve my struggling mental health.
100% of funds raised will go towards this life-saving surgery/antibiotic aftercare.
Pepé and I thank you for your time and consideration
