Save Prime Cinemas Red Bluff

A wonderful small-town community like Red Bluff deserves to have a first-run movie theater. But, Red Bluff’s beloved theater, Prime Cinemas is on the verge of going dark for good. After being closed for three long months due to the lockdown, Prime Cinemas reopened on June 26, but was shuttered again by order of the Governor just 16 days later. As of now it is unknown when we will be allowed to reopen and show movies again. This theater has been part of Red Bluff since 1993 and we have had the pleasure to own and operate it since 2008.
The stimulus loans we received were not nearly enough to make up for COVID’s ongoing disruption, and that money has now run out. We have invested a lot of money, (not to mention blood sweat and tears) into providing a quality entertainment venue for the local community. But we are now at the point that we need to ask for your help.
We need to raise $75,000 to make it through 2020 so we can come back strong in 2021. Everyday we look for funding sources and strategize ways we can keep the doors open. We will continue to sell popcorn and soda on Saturdays and explore other revenue opportunities to help pay the bills, but ultimately it is not enough.
Without raising these funds, our doors will close. Will you consider a gift to keep our doors open and the popcorn popping so Tehama County can continue to go out to the movies?
Your generosity today will not only support this business, but support jobs and the local economy:
· Prime Cinemas contributes over $1 million dollars a year to our local economy in the form of wages, purchases from local businesses, contractors, services, local taxes and more.
· Closing Prime Cinemas means losing a staple of our cultural life, and it’s hard to imagine Red Bluff or Tehama County without a movie theater.
· Our theater has supported numerous local organizations over the years by donating thousands of free movie passes, hosting school visits and many other fundraising events.
· We serve our community by providing free movies each summer.
· We have given hundreds of teenagers their first job.
· And, our audiences come to town to see a movie, but they also visit nearby shops and enjoy meals and drinks in local restaurants and bars.
When you need an escape, a diversion, a date, a night out, a thrill, a laugh, or a couple of hours alone; movie theaters have always been here for you. We know we will have to restructure our business going forward to respond to the disruption affecting us all, and we will look at all options.
We need your support, please give what you can. Maybe the amount you might have spent on a night out at the theater?
