Dogs and Cats of Puerto Madero
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dr. Sheddy and I am raising funds to help save the dogs and cats of Puerto Madero.
Puerto Madero is a small coastal town in Mexico that does not have the resources or support to provide the necessary veterinary care to their pets. We fund local veterinarians to provide preventative treatments including spay and neuter, tick medicine and vaccinations. We also fund the treatment of local street dogs to help prevent the spread of disease and improve the welfare of the communities animals. We established the first veterinary outreach in this area in 2019 and have continued to fund treatments every year since, but we need your help to continue this important work.
Many of the diseases we provide preventative treatment for are contagious to other animals, including wildlife, but also to humans. By preventing diseases like rabies and rocky mountain fever in pets we also help prevent these diseases in the human population. Our funding also helps the two local female veterinarians continue their business in an area it can be very hard to get ahead.
We are fundraising for two major projects:
- Two large scale Spay and Neuter campaigns for 50 animals (Cost $3000 AUD each = $6000 AUD)
- 12 months of funding for a local veterinarian to provide outreach in her community (Cost $370 AUD per month = $4,440 AUD)
We hope to raise $11,000 AUD to cover the cost of these projects (and associated bank fees) to provide another year of animals care in an area it is desperately needed.
