Nick from Red Robin Records here, cap in hand. This is an absolute last resort for me. I would never dream of starting a go fund me page if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Unfortunately due to the current situation I have no choice but to ask for help. We had a specialist in to take a look at our books and help us get on the right track but the numbers are not good. We are in a bit of a pickle, financially. The only way out of this mess is with the help of the public.

We opened Red Robin Records back in 2019, already a challenge what with the oil downturn and the demise of Union Street. A lifetime in the making for myself, I had always dreamed of having my own place and to see it come to life before me was a dream come true. 2019 was a huge learning experience and we soon found out that despite only being a stones throw from Union Street, Correction Wynd did not posses any passing trade, (always do your market research) however we were attracting regulars and our customers came back and that’s something that still warms my heart, sincerely I thank each and every one of you. 2020 was going to be our year!! We all know how that turned out. Fast forward to January 2024 and we are in vast amounts of dept trying to stay afloat. I have a target of £100,000 which is insane but my feelings were go big or don’t bother. I don’t ever imagine reaching this goal but I thought it was important to show you the mountain I’m stepping onto. So, what does this mean for RRR? I’m not really sure, we had just started opening up in the evenings in December and had great feedback , this is something we would like to continue and feel it’s where we can generate profit and turn things around, which is what we want. To get to that point, we would need full bookings, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from February through to December, the cafe during the day would also have to increase its profit by a third and I would need to sell double the amount of coffee beans that we sell in the shop. These things are all doable but not without your help. To save RRR and to keep us open we need a huge cash injection to pay off dept and keep the wolfs from the door.

At the very least whatever money we can raise will help us pay off dept and attempt to walk away with as much of our equipment as possible so that we can start again. If we are unable to do that then the only option is insolvency which would result in the sale of everything to pay off as much dept as possible, which would leave us bankrupt and without any possibility of starting again.
