Save Reggie the Shar Pei after being hit by train
Donation protected
Hi, we are Amy and Reece Parkinson and we are raising money to pay for life saving treatment for our beloved pet Shar Pei, Reggie (aka Mr Crinkles).
Whilst we were travelling home from a family trip to Spain on Saturday 18th June, our amazing dog Reggie escaped from our parents house and on to the train track which runs alongside the property. Reggie was found some hours later by an amazing Network Rail employee who managed to arrange for Reg to be sent to an emergency vets.
We landed to the news that Reggie had been hit by a train and that his survival was uncertain.
By some miracle, Reg has survived the impact of the train. Unfortunately, the injuries he has sustained included the total severing of his tail, dozens of lacerations to his head and body, and various fractures and dislocations to his limbs.
We’ve been to visit Reg and the vets and nurses couldn’t believe how well he responded to hearing our voices, and in his current state, he still tried to climb out of his bed to follow us home. He is a fighter!
Reggie needs to have his left leg amputated in order to give him the best chance. The vets are really confident that this could lead to a happy recovery and life for Reggie.
However, the surgery and associated care is going to cost in the region of £10,000.
Unfortunately, Reggie was born with a very rare neurological condition (called Mega Oesophagus) which meant that he couldn’t be insured. Therefore we don’t have insurance to cover this life saving treatment.
If you could spare anything that you have to help us save Reggie’s life, we would be forever grateful.
Our little girl Willow (like the rest of us) just wants her best friend Reggie home ❤️
Thank you
Amy, Reece and all of our family ❤️
