Save Richeys Grill and the jobs that go with it.

We are trying to raise capital to save a 30 year tradition. After covid, it had become really difficult to pay all the bills and now the money has run out. please help so we can save jobs!!!

My name is MIchael Haddad and I got the opportunity to purchase Richey's Grill from my Uncle Richard in 2019, right before Covid. I did everything I was supposed to and we never had to close the restaurant one day from the pandemic. We took on the PPP and EIDL loans like we were instructed to because there was still a gap in revenue we needed to operate properly. During this time my little family grew with our youngest being born 5 months after the purchase of the restaurant. For a day of the it was difficult to get everything done I needed to but managed. At the end of 2020 on Christmas eve we received word that my father in law passed away from from a pulmonary embolism after testing positive with Covid. He was my financial backer and council for all decisions I made for the business and my family. I was a huge loss for us all. Two months later I would get the news of my own father. My dad died from health problems and was not related to anything else. My dad was my best friend. Everything was flipped upside down and I began to recluse and close off to the world. I ended up stepping away from the restaurant to seek help for an addiction I couldn't beat on my own, My wife took over starting from scratch. She did a pretty good keeping the place running and my employees paid. When I got back, I sought out a job to work somewhere else. My wife was offered a job at a new company and I was asked to be a stay at home dad. I thought it would be great, until I went to the restaurant and saw the stack of mail. The amount of collections and unpaid balances was crippling. I owed the SBA, OK Tax Commision, the building for Rent, IRS, 2 credit cards, The internet and phone provider, The parking Garage. So... I did some digging. Despite the whole time My wife was running the place she never once drew paycheck but some things just didn't add up. We ended up divorcing and I have been running the restaurant for the past year and havent missed a payroll yet. It is getting very tough with the amount owed to the past taxes. This is where I need your help by donating to keep the restaurant going, you would affect the lives of 9 families. One of my guys has been here since 2000. I just cannot secure another loan! $30,000 would give me the working capital to not have to worry if a check is going to clear or if we can pay the bread guy. As of right now we have a payment plan with the OK Tax Commision just to stay open! it is a $10,000 debt with a $1750 monthly payment. The original working capital note was called by the issuer and I have legal fees on top of that. We can survive if we didn't have this burdening us because we do have an amazing following. Please help my little dream stay alive. Help our guys have a place they can feed their families from. I will not go out without a fight and I will throw everything I got at this.

I have made some pretty big mistakes in my life and I usually learn from them one token I can pass on. If you cannot make it, it is okay to stop. If you keep borrowing to pay for borrowed money, the end will find itself. If you have enough community, get in the middle so you are less likely to fall.

I have received many in person and I want to thank you all so very much. If for some reason there is a change and Richeys is forced to close, all collected donations will be given to Betty, a woman who just wont give up, a cancer survivor with determination that we will pull through like she does every day.
