Save Ritz

Hi. We're the parents of 5 year old Ritz. Ritz always loved to play with his kitty family, he loved food, and his favorite thing is chin scratches. Ritz is SO thankful to have a family that absolutely adores him after the rough beginning he had.

But, in the last few weeks, Ritz stopped playing, lost his appetite, and started to lose a bunch of weight. His belly also started to swell up a lot. We took him to the vet, and it turns out that Ritz has Feline Infectious Peritonitis. (FIP) is the name given to a common and aberrant immune response to infection with feline coronavirus. There are no current vaccinations against FIP, and no cure approved by the FDA. It causes jaundice, weight loss, loss of appetite, organ damage, pain, fur loss, skin issues, fluid buildup, issues in the blood stream, and neurological problems. FIP is always fatal.

EXCEPT...during our desperate research for any info on this rare mutation of feline coronavirus, we found a group of advocates that through their trials have found an unapproved medication that of the 141 cats that received the 12 week daily treatment, 116 recovered from FIP completely! Those that did not survive simply did not receive the medication in time to save them. We need this medicine ASAP! We need the funds to save our sweet boy. Ritz in the meantime will need multiple rounds of IV fluids, antibiotic shots, blood transfusions, and other treatments to keep him going until the medication arrives. If you can donate, please do.
