Save Sesi Magazine

Sesi magazine was created seven years ago as the only print magazine for Black teen girls.  Sesi’s founder, Andrea Butler, grew up obsessed with magazines, but was always disappointed to see how few girls in the magazines looked like her. To make sure that girls like her grew up being able to see themselves in media, she started Sesi magazine and has been the owner and editor-in-chief since. Some people may try to tell you that print media is dying, but Sesi’s 20,000 subscribers  won’t. I’ve seen firsthand how much girls love this magazine.

Unfortunately, producing a magazine is expensive, and finding advertisers for a niche market has been challenging. After seven years of love, sweat and tears, it’s become impossible to continue publishing the magazine without reaching out for help. This magazine means SO, SO much to so many girls and it is the only print magazine of its kind. If Sesi disappears, the girls that read and love it will have nowhere else to go for print media that represents them. Sesi needs $15,000 to continue publishing. The cost of a subscription does not cover the cost of publishing the magazine. Your donation will help to print and distribute the fall issue of the magazine and to buy time for the magazine to find additional advertisers for future issues.

Please help keep this magazine in the hands of he girls that love it so much. Anything helps!
