Save Sherman: Urgent Medical Care Needed

Donation protected
Devastated to report that Sherman coded and, in spite of CPR, has passed. We thank everyone so much for their love and help in trying to save our boy. The donations will be used towards his outstanding bill but we will not be accepting more at this time. Everything that could possibly have been done was done to try to save him. We are devastated.
Please keep his owners and handlers in your thoughts and prayers.

We desperately need your help. Our friend, Amanda, has a heart dog named Sherman. Some of you in the dog show world may know him- some of us have been lucky enough to love him and his family. On Wednesday, he was at a show and he vomited, which is something dogs do from time to time and is rarely ever an emergency. Within six hours, he was fighting to breathe, within 18 hours, he had to be placed on a ventilator or he was going to die. The diagnosis is aspiration pnemonia.

We are now days into this absolute nightmare. Thanks to the incredible team at MedVet in Columbus, he is still with us and his lungs are doing better. The problem now is they can't control his temperature and they're hoping if we can get him on dialysis, we can give his body the help it needs to make the turn. The problem is, the costs to get him to outpatient care are estimated to be between $30,000-$60,000. Without this life-saving treatment, the prognosis is grim and we just can't let him go without a fight.

Please help us help Amanda and Dan out- Amanda is a vet herself and gives free services to animals in need, and she NEVER asks for anything in return- Dan is an incredible person who would do anything for anybody. The devastation of this out of the blue emergency is bringing this couple to their knees. This is not just a dog, this is their FAMILY- this is our family. We don't know what else to do other than beg for support for them and for Sherman. We can't do this alone, and we hate asking for donations- but we may lose him if we don't continue treatment, and none of us can bear that outcome. Thank you for considering helping us and joining Team Sherman.
