SAVE SIMAS VISION!!!!

Sima McCormack is a single mama of two, a farmer, and a dear friend to all! After developing acute disturbances in her vision Sima has been recently diagnosed with Keratoconus a degenerative disease of the cornea. This disease leads to blindness if untreated. Unfortunately after months of research and fighting for a diagnosis and prognosis the insurance is unable to cover the procedure reliably, entirely or with the brevity needed for Sima to protect her remaining eyesight. Sima is the sole provider for her household with no other outside help. She has been a fulltime farmer for many years in Southern Oregon while raising her kids. Sima has been a crucial member of our community for over 20 years! She has undergone an incredible amount of stress in the last few years keeping her family afloat in crisis all while her own health was impacted. There is no cure for this degenerative disease. In order to save and preserve Sima's REMAINING vision she must have this procedure immediately. Sadly, it will not correct what she's already lost only stop more damage and eventual blindness. To receive this treatment Sima must travel to LOS Angeles , CA and have the procedure immediately at one of the few facilities which offer it. She was able to get an appointment on December 7. She will receive the Corneal crosslinking surgery. This treatment done promptly will insure that Sima doesn't lose more of her precious eyesight. Unfortunately, it costs $5,000 per eye for a total of $10,000 plus

$1,000 appointment fee,

travel and lodging. Sima will need time off of work to heal and recover. The funds will go directly into covering the surgery, travel costs as well as loss of wages. Sima is absolutley exhausted by the whole process of advocating for her health while being so severely impacted by the symptoms.
