Save Sir Thomas Trueheart
Donation protected
I am a cat photographer in Los Angeles and I recently created a photo series entitled "The Beauty of Blind Cats" in order to raise awareness of special needs cats and an amazing organization called Milo's Sanctuary that specializes in caring for blind cats. While I was at Milo's, I met and fell in love with a cat named Thomas. The overwhelming response to his photos on social media shows that the world fell in love with him as well. He has a very sad story, but you can help give him a great future by donating to his care.
Sir Thomas Trueheart was living the life of an outside, unwanted cat in the high desert of California. Some kind people were feeding him but he had no home to call his own. Tommy is a friendly boy and that friendliness almost cost him his life. A cruel human or humans deliberately poured a caustic substance on Tommy’s face literally burning half of it almost off, including his right eye. He wandered for days in agony and found his way back to the people’s house who were feeding him. They immediately took him to a vet who had NO idea what they were doing and wanted to send Tommy home with just some antibiotics and then when they tested him and found out he was FIV+ they wanted to kill him. The people who rescued Tommy reached out to Milo's Sanctuary on social media and Milo's immediately jumped into action, getting a hold of the woman who had rescued him and having her rush him to the vet. Thomas was at the vet for over a month on antibiotics, pain medications, and sugar bandages to help the wound heal and granulate. Then he went to a surgical specialist who did an amazing job with a skin graft. Through it all, Tommy was so brave and purred and kissed the people taking care of him. After his skin graft there was more hospital time and FINALLY Tommy got to go to his Lifetime Care Foster home where he continues to heal and get lots of love and attention. Tommy has ongoing issues with his one eye and has not yet fully healed from his skin graft, but every day he is making progress!
Milo's Sanctuary & Special Needs Cat Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded on the belief that all cats deserve a second chance at life, especially those that have physical disabilities, are seniors, have a terminal illness, or have been abused and need someone to care for love and understand them. All Milo’s cats receive medical care and anything else that they require to have the best quality of life for as long as we can. Milo's relies solely on donations to continue its mission to help special needs cats and kittens that would otherwise die abandoned in the shelter or on the street. EVERY cent donated goes directly to the care of these beautiful souls. All donations are tax deductible.
Thomas had something horrible to him, but it didn't stop him from being a happy, affectionate cat. He sees the good in people. Let's show him that the world is overwhelmingly good and that he is so very loved. Please donate to his vet bills. Milo's Sanctuary and I would be forever grateful.
