Save Skylar’s Sight

At 2 Months Old, Skylar has a history of cutaneous capillary hemangioma on the right side of her face since birth. She was first seen at the eye clinic at the General Hospital in Grenada after being referred from the special care unit with complaints of discharge from both eyes, photophobia and tearing from the right eye - which was diagnosed as Bacterial Conjunctivitis. 

After the examination by the ophthalmologist it became clear there was a problem with her right eye as her cornea appeared opaque, enlarged and not very focused.


By the 13th August the Bacterial Conjunctivitis had cleared however it appeared the size of her cornea and the opaqueness had not been fixed and in turn she was diagnosed with a MEGALACORNEA as a result of PRIMARY CONGENITAL GLAUCOMA. 

Grenada sadly does not have a PEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGIST to diagnose how severe her eye condition is, the pressure behind her eyes, the size of her cornea etc, therefore she is required to travel to Barbados for an assessment and surgery.
The assessments include:

•  Biometry
•  Pachymetry
• Tonometry
• Fundoscopy
• Gonioscopy - Under General Anesthetic 

This gofundme is being set up to raise funds to cover the cost of the surgery-namely a TRABECULECTOMY. 
As well as flights, accommodation and any additional medication she will need.
