Save Soul Bites: A Hub for Art and Comfort Food

Hey everyone, this is Stirling from Soul Bites. A lot of you know us for our amazing Soul food, our community entertainment space for local art, comedy, and a wide array of beautiful events. For those of you who don't know us, my wife Rose and I hope you will have an opportunity to come visit us, enjoy some delicious chef driven comfort food, with a healthy twist, have a glass of wine or draft beer, from our local and minority owned wineries and breweries, and check out our variety of events that are welcoming to all.

This is hard for me to say, but...we've had a rough summer, with some unexpected expenses, during our slower months and we need some help. We've worked with our landlord and they have generously offered us reduced rent for the rest of the year, to help us get back on track and to give us the opportunity to continue serving our community. We are hosting a series of events to raise money, so that we can stay on State Street, in Old Town Santa Barbara and keep doing what we love...cooking chef driven Soul Food and maintaining the only open to everyone, community based, live entertainment venue, restaurant and bar in town. We fought hard to create our space two years ago, and we plan to continue fighting to offer this safe space for our community.

We have been, and will continue to be proud supporters of the Black and Brown community, the LGBTQ+ community, the sober community, the houseless and disadvantaged, artists of all disciplines, and the youth of our community. We do this by offering a safe, welcoming space for all. Our mission is to feed the SOUL of our community, through the comfort of our kitchen, and a diverse cultural collection of art and entertainment.

We will kick off this fundraiser on Monday, September 2nd, at 11 am. and will be hosting a series of events, to help us make our fundraising goal of $30,00 by September 15th. Rose and I are so grateful to be supported in this endeavor by the awesome folks at Melanin Culture Co., Santa Barbara Multicultural Professionals, The Starfish Connection and Healing Justice SB, as well as of the promoters and artists donating their talents to our fundraiser.
