Save Splash Mountain

UPDATE Posted September 21: Rey Ford is now in charge of the Save Splash Mountain efforts. All funds have been transferred into his control and he will be pushing forward in attempt to save Splash Mountain.
On Thursday, June 25, Walt Disney World announced that they would be changing America's favorite ride, Splash Mountain, at both their Anaheim and Orlando theme parks. This news came as an absolute gut punch to many Disney lovers as Splash Mountain has been a beloved attraction since the attraction first opened in 1989.
Personally, I've had some incredible memories on Splash Mountain and am absolutely devastated that it won't be around for much longer. Due to the social issues facing America, Disney has decided to remove an attraction that has absolutely nothing offensive in it to appease a small percentage of people that simply want to destroy something that public love.
On Change.org there is currently a petition going around to keep Splash Mountain as it is. The plan for the donations will be as follows:
1) To purchase a billboard in either the Anaheim or Orlando area to draw attention to the Save Splash Mountain campaign. The expected minimum expense for this will be $1,500 but it could be more depending on the exact location, production involved in the billboard, and the duration of the billboard ad.
2) To hire a polling company, such as PPP, to conduct a nationwide poll in order to get hard numbers on whether people support the change to Splash Mountain. This will be broken down by age, gender, race, economic group, and geography. The expected cost for this is approximately $2,500.
3) To build a Save Splash Mountain website that will encourage others to get involved in saving our beloved attraction. COMPLETED! - Approximately $100 for website and $250 for SEO optimization.

4) Contact politicians, especially in Florida, and lobby them to get involved in preventing Disney World from changing their attractions based on politics and/or ideology. If I am unable to raise the $1,500 necessary for the billboard, funds will be used for this purpose. However, the billboard remains the #1 priority.
Please join me in this campaign so that we can keep Splash Mountain alive so that our children and their children can make the same memories that we have been able to!
