Save Spotlites Fund

Spotlites has been based in Chatham for 26 years providing arts and culture to the community through theatre, as well as being a safe place for all our members young and old.

We have taught acting sessions, alongside singing and dancing to many over the years, and have become its own little community within the area. With many who have grown up locally or nearby knowing of Spotlites because they used to attend when they were young, their children used to or currently attend and we are now starting to welcome the next generation through our doors.

We have always been a non profit organisation, that uses the funds coming into our theatre through members to help aid with costs of new shows, props and equipment and building maintenance. However in recent years we have been hit quite hard. The year of 2022 was our bounce back year from the impact of covid, and although we have been able to mostly resume business as normal, our membership depleted. Now there is a cost of living crisis which means that we are all struggling even more so.

We value our members and the loyalty and kindness they have shown us. In trying to ensure our services stay available to everyone we have lowered costs where possible and avoided price hikes, however this does then come at a cost to Spotlites.

In 2023 we want to be providing even more, and offer more to those who may not be able to normally afford it otherwise, but in order to do so we do need to raise money to help keep us running.
