Save stray and abandoned dogs Lancashire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nicola and I'm a volunteer with Homeless Hounds, a non-profit charity in Lancashire that saves stray and abandoned dogs.
Without this charity, many dogs would be euthanised every year just because they do not have an owner.
Many of these dogs arrive in a sorry state requiring expensive veterinary treatment, vaccinations and neutering.
Homeless Hounds do not receive any government funding and all the money required to house them whilst we seek new forever homes & pay the veterinary bills is raised by dedicated volunteers giving up their free time. This often involves attending local events, some of which we rely on taking place each year.
On Sunday 16th July 2023, we were due to attend Fleetwood Festival of Transport - Tram Sunday. This event attracts thousands of visitors from all across the UK and we would've been expecting to raise around £3,000 by marshalling the car park requesting donations from each arriving car & several stalls selling refreshments for four-legged visitors, tombolas and much more.
Unfortunately, the Great British summer weather has resulted in the organisers having to cancel the entire event, forecast thunderstorms and 35mph winds. With all they have to have in place to run the event, they have confirmed it cannot be re-scheduled this year.
I have set the target to reflect the amount we should've raised on the day so that Homeless Hounds can continue to give the best care to dogs when they need it the most.
Please have a look at the photos and see the amazing transformations Homeless Hounds has made to these dogs' lives.
Please donate if you can. All of the money raised will go towards paying the ongoing vet bills.
We thank you
