Save Strength Camp Coconut Creek
If we have never met, my name is Coach Rob. I am head coach and owner of Strength Camp Coconut Creek, in South Florida.
As a 10 year Veteran of the US Navy, I have carried with me a sense of pride and personal growth through my experiences in the Navy. I also adopted a sense of determination to help other people improve and grow as I did. I feel that once upon a time, and perhaps because of the Navy, fitness saved my life. It became my dream and goal to extend that to other people who also wanted to improve their health, fitness, and emotional well being.
It was a long hard road, but finally about 2 years ago, I opened the doors to a gym. I wanted to provide a unique experience. I did not want to be "just another gym". I wanted to offer people a place to come and be a part of a fitness family where hard work would not feel like a chore, but a pleasure; something they all look forward to. As I gained members, I also gained new friends. I started to see the changes in my members athleticism, and their overall emotional well being. We began hosting special community events and enjoyed our weekly Savage Saturdays. We were becoming our very own community. One thing I knew I wanted to do was reach back into the community. We successfully aided in sizable donations for victims of Hurricane Dorian for the Bahamas. We collected mass amounts of toys for Toys for Tots, and worked with Veteran support groups to get in need veterans free fitness training as well.
Now I am the one that needs your help. Due to our current Global events, COVID 19 has affected us and the gym. As gyms have been forced to close, and being in Broward County Florida, no plans to be able to reopen have been determined. I have taken measures to continue to offer my members a good experience through online training and live streaming classes. However, this is not nearly enough. I have lost members everyday due to COVID 19 affecting their personal lives and finances. Along with losing members, I have also lost money. And I am not referring to profits going to my own pocket. I have run out of resources to cover past due rent, utilities, and the expenses to keep a clean, sanitized gym space. My gym potentially closing down forever is due to something that is completely beyond my control.
As soon as I realized how this could affect me, I immediately began applying to several places for relief. I did not wait. I wanted to be proactive and hope to secure enough funds to save the gym. The fine print and stipulations in many of the relief applications, immediately exempt me from receiving the help I so desperately need. It has been my daily job to contact anyone and everyone I could in hopes of assistance. Now here I stand with no relief or help for the little guy.
I now may have to close my doors for good. Facing that is a heartache I hoped I would not have to reach. Our gym, because it belongs to my members too, is not a big box gym. We have so much to offer our members and we truly enjoy the community family we were becoming,
I am not a typical gym. I focused on the members and small group training, I focused on the people and the uniqueness of each individual. I got to know their families and kids and made them apart of my family.
Please consider giving any amount you can to help me continue to give back to others. Fitness did not only save my life, but it continues to be an integral part of my life. All monies collected will go straight to the cost of rent and to all expenses to make the gym cleansed and ready for its members. With your help I may be able to continue to offer my members the excellent service they so deserve. If you are local, looking to improve your health, please come check us out when we can reopen. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for any donation you feel you can make. THANK YOU.
Sincerely,
Coach Rob
