Urgent: Help the Nabil family fight to survive in Gaza

Dear Friends,

We are a family of 7 trying to survive in Gaza. We are in dire need of your help.

Our house was targeted by the occupation on 10 July 2024 and we had to move to Deir al-Balah, in the southern Gaza Strip, in a shelter school.

Our father Nabil (42) got injured in his head and suffers terribly because of it. Since then life has become even tougher. Yhaya (21), who is the eldest son, has always been trying hard to provide us with basic sustenance. Now we live in an old shop, which is much better than a tent, but to stay there we sometimes have to withhold food in order to afford the rent.

At the beginning of the genocide, together with our mother Islam (37), Fawzi (7) was in kindergarten, Yahya and Ibrahim (20) were studying at university and Marah (17) and Mohammed (16) were still in school. Marah’s dream is to study abroad to become a journalist and spread news of her homeland to the world. Along with our home, our school and our city, also our future and our dreams were destroyed. Young people have the right to study, have fun and pursue their interests, but war obliterates all of this.

War kills everything, including those who live on. At the moment this campaign is launching, we are on the 456th day since the beginning of the genocide, with no possibility for evacuation, severe shortage of water, food, blankets and basic means of subsistence, hypothermic conditions with no electricity and not a single place being safe in Gaza.

How the funding will be spent:

the funding is vital to provide for the family’s basic needs, such as water, food, paying the rent and treatments for my father’s injury. There is a dramatic shortage of clothes and blankets, especially now in the winter. We also need school supplies for the children.
