Help save the animals at Buffalo Creek!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am Cheryl Hillis, one of the owners & operators of Buffalo Creek Vacations, Clyde, NC (located 30 miles west of Asheville).
Last week, our region, Western NC, was devastated by Hurricane Helene. Thankfully, our family, staff & animals are all okay. Unfortunately, our area has suffered so much loss and damage from this catastrophic event!
We have felt the outpouring of love from so many past guests, friends & family. We are overwhelmed and want to say: thank you! It truly brightened our day in these dark times once we could access Wi-Fi and see all the text messages, emails & voicemails.
Please help us save the animals! All our neighboring hay fields were flooded & crops were destroyed. We have been without power on the main ranch since the early morning of Friday, 9/27/2024. Some of the animals have creeks to drink out of; the others depend on a well that is not operational without power. Gas, food & water are very limited in the area as well.
So many have reached out to us asking what they can do to help us in our time of need. Please help us feed, water, and care for our animals. Anything you can contribute will go a long way.
October in the Smoky Mountains is one of the busiest months of the year & the rental money from our cabins & cabooses helps take care of the animals on the ranch. With all the cancellations & rescheduling of guests to come later in the year, this will impact our operation.
We humbly ask if you can contribute anything, any donated funds will be used to buy hay, feed, water & supplies for all our friends on the ranch: bison, alpacas, llamas, mini donkeys, horses, pygmy goats, rabbits, & our famous turkey Pumpkin! This amount should cover animal expenses for the month of Oct.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we can't wait to see you all at the ranch as soon as we can open up!
May God bless you all & this beautiful area!
